It’s the perfect metaphor for the Trump regime: Demolishing the East Wing of the White House (during a Government shutdown) in preparation for constructing a 90,000-square-foot, gold-studded

ballroom.

 

Yet again, Trump is behaving in a blatantly illegal manner.

The White House belongs to all of us. Renovations of this revered structure have not been approved by the

National Capital Planning Commission. The costs of the work should appear in the budget as approved by Congress, but they do not. Trump claims the costs of the work are covered by private donations, but he has not revealed who those donors are.

 

Given Trump’s lax relationship to the truth, we can only surmise it’s all B.S. And it doesn’t matter who’s footing the bill. The White House belongs to all of us and we all should oversee, through our elected officials, alterations and changes. The White House does not belong to Donald Trump.

 

Trump has done countless unforgivable things:

•  Imposing illegal tariffs while passing the cost on to consumers;

• Siging into law a budget assuring tax breaks to billionaires at the expense of average citizens;

• Illegally removing law-abiding citizens simply because their skin is dark;

• Illegally deploying troops in otherwise peaceful cities;

• And much more.

 

For those of us who are visual learners the gut-wrenching image of the desecrated White House sums up what Trump is doing to our beloved country which is too much to ignore.

 

He must be stopped before all of our country resembles the destroyed East Wing.

 

We all must act and do, at a minimum, the following:

• Call your elected officials daily;

• Speak out wherever and whenever you can;

• Attend rallies such as the recent, highly successful NO KINGS rally;

• Donate to a local food bank;

• Register people to vote;

• Make sure your Vote by Mail status is current.

We love our country and will not bow down to a tyrant.
